In 1992, in een tijd in de skateboardgeschiedenis waarin het skateboarden er somber uitzag, deed Tony Hawk het ondenkbare… hij begon een skateboardbedrijf. Oorspronkelijk genaamd Birdhouse Projects, werd het opgericht vanuit de veronderstelling dat, als je van iets houdt, je het ondersteunt en koestert. Je stelt het beste, meest toegewijde team van skateboarders samen en je doet waar je van houdt… skateboard. En 24 jaar later bloeit Birdhouse nog steeds, met een van de beste teams in de sport, gebouwd op respect, kameraadschap, authenticiteit en liefde voor wat ze doen.
